What’s new for the 2017 Ford Super Duty?
This model year has been a big one for the Ford Super Duty, which has seen its fair share of changes, both inside and out. Looking at the new 2017 Ford Super Duty compared to its 2016 model, you might not even think they were the same vehicle. Here at Houston Ford of Pine River, we’ve broken down the major new features for the 2017 Ford Super Duty.
Like the F-150, the exterior of the new 2017 Super Duty is made of aluminum to reduce weight without taking a toll on its power and capability. It features a larger, stronger frame making it more capable of transporting heavy trailers or payloads.

New engine capability
Another notable change made to the 2017 Super Duty is its engine. While its previous model featured only a 6.2-liter V8 engine, the new 2017 model has an available 6.7-liter POWER STROKE® V8 Turbo diesel engine that’s capable of outstanding power and capability. It produces a massive 440 horsepower and 925 lb-ft of torque for an incredible performance. This engine option makes it possible for drivers to tow 21,000 lbs conventionally and a phenomenal 35,500 lbs when using a gooseneck trailer.
For even more towing convenience, the Super Duty features a Trailer Reverse Guidance System, which uses an icon to show you which what to turn the wheel if you’re looking to back up straight.
