2020 Ford Escape Style and Appearance
The redesigned 2020 Ford Escape is slated to kick off the fourth-generation of the beloved model, and we can hardly wait. Estimates predict the new crossover SUV will go on sale in fall 2019. In the meantime, we’ll have to satisfy ourselves with any information we can get our hands on.
One thing you may be wondering is: what will the 2020 Ford Escape look like?
The 2020 Ford Escape embraces a more carlike look, abandoning the rugged pretensions that adorn most SUVs. It has shorter proportions and smoother lines throughout, with a slightly lower roof. Though the new Escape looks smaller than before, it’s actually longer and wider, with increased interior space.

We admire the 2020 Ford Escape for showing itself proudly for what the crossover SUV body-type really is- a more advanced, capable version of the passenger-car models that Ford has moved beyond. Though many similar vehicles busy themselves trying to look tough and off-road ready, the reality is that very few of them have any off-road capability at all, and such design choices end up negatively affecting real practical capability.
The 2020 Ford Escape is less SUV-like than ever before, with the design focusing instead on realistically optimizing the strengths of its crossover proportions. Attempting to look tough and rugged when that’s not your strength just feels artificial, and we’re glad to see a crossover SUV that finally seems comfortable with its own identity.
