Why should I wax my car before winter?

Rock salt is one of the worst perpetrators and because it is used on many roads to prevent ice, it comes in contact with the paint job via slush and snow. Oftentimes, the cold temperatures that come with winter months make it difficult to get a car wash regularly, so rock salt can eat away at the paint and lead to rust in the long term. Having a layer of wax between things like rock salt, ice, snow, freezing rain and bird droppings can be extremely beneficial in protecting a vehicle’s paint job.
