Morning,
I took delivery of a brand new ford transit connect limited (KU19 TWB) and I have a wireless phone charging pad in it but it doesn’t seem to be working. Do I need to activate it?
I have tried to get answers from the Ford Garage we purchased it from but no one seems to reply to our messages. Can you help at all?
Mine is the same dosent seem to be working and I know for a fact my phone has wireless charging built in and tried other wirless charging phones and it dosent work, I also just brought a brand new Ford transit connect
Just bought 2019 transit connect. Just bought iPhone XR. It does not charge in the port on the van. Why?
Make sure that your phone isn’t in an Otterbox or some other protective case.
Same issue ford connect limited with wireless phone charger pad but doesn,t wor does anyone have any answers?
Has anyone worked out how to get it to work?
Lots are supplied with a generic Matt and may not have been fitted with the actual pad
I also have a 2019 connect with a changing QI pad. Apparently all connects have this pad but is an additional £100 when having the vehicle made. I am trying to find out if the charging devise can be added later.
do you happen to know the part number for this pad
I purchased a 2020 Ford Edge new last week.I tried 2 phones to see if the Ford cell charge pad would work. It does nothing.
I purchased 2020 Ford Escape Titanium a couple weeks ago. Just purchased an iPhone 12 Pro and the wireless charging starts and stops after 1 minute (even when battery level is 50%), followed by an annoying message saying charging disconnected on sync 3 screen. Is it the charger or the phone? I tried with and without the phone case and get the same result. I have a Belkin wireless charger (10 Watt) at home and that works on my phone. Anyone know the specs on the Ford wireless charger? Is it Qi certified?
The charging pad worked fine in my 2019 Transit Connect with my iPhone XS Max. When I “upgraded” to the latest iPhone 12 Pro Max, the charger became useless. I get the same intermittent charging sessions and disconnected messages as Charles outlined on November 5, 2020.
I use a “QuadLock” case, which has a raised surface right in the middle of the back of the phone (in order to accommodate the mount). I figured it was keeping the actual phone just a little too far away, so I removed the rubber mat that covers the charger and cut a hole in it so the phone/case would sit closer to the charging coils beneath the mat. Nope! Same problem.
I read on another forum that this is an issue with many iPhone 12 owners. Supposedly, iOS 14.2 helps this issue…I am downloading and installing it as I type this…fingers crossed. NOPE. No difference with 14.2…same issues. I also read that some chargers may need a firmware update to perform better with the iPhone 12, so this may need some work on the part of Ford, too.
AS FOR THOSE THAT HAVE NEVER HAD SUCCESS WITH THE CHARGER…
Remove the mat (there are 2 tabs that snap in at the edge closest to you, just gently lift the mat and they will disengage) and see if you actually have a charger. If you do, you will see the recessed area with bars going across from side to side. If it is flat/smooth, you don’t have a charger, even if the mat indicates you do.
