The first thing you should check is whether the battery is dead or dying. This can be pretty easily done by opening it up and inserting the new battery in. Is it still not working? It’s probably safe to assume that the remote could be damaged. Do you have a second key fob? If you do, check to see if it works. Otherwise, you can also pick a new one up and give it a shot.

How to Program a New Ford Key Fob

  • Enter vehicle and close all doors
  • Unlock all doors with the unlock button
  • Cycle the key in the ignition to run and off eight times, ending in run
  • You should hear the doors lock and then unlock
  • Hit any button on the remote and the vehicle should lock/unlock again
  • Turn key to off to exit programming mode.
