The Ford Explorer SUV lineup is expanding

2017 Ford Explorer XLT Sport Appearance Package

SUVs are the vehicles of choice among many Americans, and they are a big draw here in Minnesota, too. This kind of vehicle is ideally suited for our busy, beautiful, and occasionally harsh landscape. Their popularity continues to grow, and Ford is responding by extending its lineup of the best-selling SUV worldwide for the past 25 years, the Ford Explorer. For the next model year, the Michigan-based automaker will roll out a new option for shoppers. Here is what we know so far about the 2017 Ford Explorer XLT Sport Appearance Package.

This new addition to the popular SUV lineup will expand the number of available options in the Explorer family to six. Currently, the lineup consists of the base model, XLT, Limited, Sport, and Platinum. Ford has seen an interest in unique SUV models from its customers, and the Sport Appearance Package will offer buyers another choice. Omar Odeh, Explorer brand marketing manager, explains the expansion.

“Our Sport Appearance philosophy is rooted in the fact that we know exterior appearance is the number one consideration in SUV purchase decisions. The XLT Sport Appearance Package is a dramatic offering that gives customers another attractive option.”
